More proof for the potential of EMA in clinical practice! Research by Glenn Kiekens (at Society for Ambulatory Assessment #SAA2024) finds that EMA is feasible for individuals who self-injure. It may however not be useful for all. One third reports increased self-insight.

As a research mentor, it’s common to see someone whose project is not working but they are doing all the right things to troubleshoot. Don’t underestimate the power of saying “Even though your experiments are failing, you are still succeeding at research.”
