Yesterday the RCT were in the Cotswolds with Trading Standards & Cotswold District Council checking waste carrier licences & scanning for potential stolen machinery. 1 vehicle seized for no tax & several absent licences dealt with. Fly tipping is not welcome in Gloucestershire!

Today the Cotswold Rural Crime Team have been following up on reports of blocked Badger sets in the North Cotswolds. Set located and cleared with appropriate signage placed. The sign is wonky as the terrain is better suited to Badgers than rural crime officers!

Op-Leviathan patrols by the Cotswold Rural crime team today, interaction with plenty of anglers and walkers pleased to see us. The two lads we bumped into in on the River Coln less so, they were fishing without permission or a rod license. Both reported and fishing rods taken!

Officers from the RCT carried out an operation today along with Trading Standards and Cotswold District Council near to Aston Down in the Cotswolds. Partnership working to deal with motoring offences, trading standards offences and waste carrier licensing issues.

Yesterday the team went back to our roots at an evening hosted by Mole Valley Farmers at a farm in the Stroud area. Officers were on hand with our pop-up display for questions & sharing information about crime prevention schemes with local farmers. Thank you MVF for having us!

The Rural Crime Team have been patrolling Cleeve Common in conjunction with Cleeve Common Trust Rangers following reports of the illegal use of off-road motorbikes. It is a Site of Special Scientific Interest and it is an offence to cause damage to it.

Yesterday the RCT held the first meeting of the hunting season with local Sab Groups (alternating with Hunt Masters) to discuss concerns & expectations. We are politically neutral & investigate every report received before presenting evidence to the CPS for a charging decision.
