GM!☀️This day, on Aug 27 1992, Super Mario Kart released for the SNES in Japan! This is the FIRST of the Mario Kart games and came about when Nintendo decided to make a 2 player racing game following F-Zero. One of the developers added Mario as a joke and the rest is history!

GM!☀️This day, on Aug 28 1987, Castlevania II: Simon's Quest released for the NES in Japan! A departure from other games in the series, this game went the Zelda II route to add more RPG elements. While commended for its graphics and sound, this game is considered a dud by many.

GM!☀️This day, on Aug 29 2003, Sword of Mana released on the GBA in Japan! This is actually a remake of the FIRST Mana game (as in Secret of Mana), which was first released on the GameBoy in 1991 as Final Fantasy Adventure. The game features stunning pixel artwork.

GM!☀️This day, on August 30 2000, Spider-Man was released for the PlayStation. This action-adventure game, while not nearly as popular or revolutionary as it's sequel, was, at the time, considered the best Spider-Man game ever made. The series has continued strong to this day.

GM!☀️This day, on Sept 1 1995, Rayman released for the Atari Jaguar! While I've heard of Rayman (despite never playing any of the 45 games in the series), I never heard of the Atari Jaquar until just now... I gotta say, it looks sick!

GM!☀️This day, on Sept 2 1980, Ultima 1 released on the Apple II computer. Noted at the time as "the best available Apple II role-playing game" with "impressive graphics." I've never heard of the game but it garnered 9 sequels so someone must have liked it.

GM!☀️This day, on Sept 3 1998, Metal Gear Solid released in Japan on the PS1! The 3rd game in the series and by far the most popular of the franchise, this title launched the series to world wide fame, selling more than 7 million copies world wide!!

GM!☀️This day, on Sept 4 1992, Sword of Hope II released on the GameBoy! Although this first person RPG received negative reviews upon release, it still garnered a re-release in 1998 (packaged with the first game) AND on the 3DS Virtual Console in 2012.

GM!☀️This day, on Sept 5 1986, Super Pitfall was released on the NES! A loose re-make of Pitfall II: Lost Caverns for the Atari 2600, the game was received poorly. One critic proclaimed "Pitfall is one of the best Atari 2600 games; Super Pitfall is one of the worst NES games"

GM!☀️This day, on Sept 6 2000, Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion released in North America on the N64! The last of the main 3 games of the series, the game received great reviews, solidifying the series as one of the greatest FPS games on the N64!
