Ibis and Nightingale thoroughly enjoyed their trip to Kew Gardens on Wednesday.

Last week, the whole school thoroughly enjoyed an inspiring talk from Simon Booker, South Stoke about photography and our local wildlife.

This week, Ms Iyer came to tell Owl class all about India. She explained about the climate, languages, food and clothes. She dressed Mrs Dryden in a sari.

Robin class read the poem 'Chocolate Cake' by Michael Rosen. We freeze framed our favourite parts of the poem in pairs or threes.

A team from our Ibis class produced an incredible performance last weekend to win their triathlon. They beat 100 other schools, a great testament to all their hard work.

Greenfinch have had lots of fun experimenting with dying techniques. The children really enjoyed using dye to create interesting designs on t-shirts.

The children really enjoyed sampling healthy snacks at our healthy snack bar yesterday. Just some of the snacks on offer can be seen in the photo. Thank you for all your generous and healthy snack contributions .

Greenfinch class have been learning about 3 artists- Michelle Reader, Barbara Hepworth and Antoni Gaudiz we have chosen some pieces we like and drawn them as a study.

In Robin class we were using Scratch Jr to practise our coding skills.

The Eco Team have been planting flowers for each class to celebrate the official birthday of King Charles III. We have planted strawberries and delphiniums in his honour.

Owl class enjoyed preparing and making fruit skewers.

Greenfinch and Owl class enjoyed identifying and investigating liquids in science. The treacle was the hardest liquid to stir. We found that the oil would float on top of the other liquids in a layer.

In science, Nightingale are investigating materials and their properties. This week they have been looking at which materials conduct electricity.

Ibis class have been learning about polygons in maths. Today they had fun making different polygons with Cuisenaire rods.

In DT, Ibis class have made some wonderful felt purses.

Today we held an election to decide what changes we would like to make to sports next year. Results will be announced tomorrow.

Congratulations to our general knowledge quiz team. Winners of the inaugural Langtree inter school quiz competition.

Incredible day for our quadkids athletics teams. Both year 3/4 and 5/6 teams competed in the county finals, a great achievement. 5/6 a very creditable 7th place and 3/4 county champions for the first time. Congratulations to all the athletes.

We are very grateful to all the Year 6's and their parents for donating two beautifully colourful buddy benches for all the children to enjoy.

Thank you to everyone who generously donated to Cancer Research at out Goldcrest/Nightingale production and leaver's service. We raised an amazing £291.23.
