On this day 14 years ago, the Child Poverty Act was established with a goal of eradicating child poverty by 2020. However in 2016 the Act was abolished under a new UK Government and the targets were abandoned. Today, one in four children live in poverty in the UK 👧👦👧👦

New(ish) paper showing that when people experience sudden income loss (as happened during the COVID-19 lockdowns), it is not just affordability that drives reduced diet quality but also distress. Distress alone appears to encourage a less healthy diet. doi.org/10.1016/j.appe…
