During my #FRANCINE chase, I planted KestrelWeather meters in hotel in Morgan City, riverboat casino in Amelia, & cafe patio in Houma. Chase Map shows storm's track, path of our chase through #hurricane's core, & min pressure at each spot. Lowest: 978.7 mb at 6:43 pm in Amelia.

Low pressure of the Carolina coast is not a tropical cyclone. It has always possessed the kinematic and buoyancy properties of a frontal cyclone (a nor'easter). Pressure deficits are not driven by heat transfer from the ocean. #PTC8 #ncwx #scwx

Roads are flooded at least 3 feet deep in parts of Carolina Beach. No cars or trucks are designed to safely travel in floodwater this deep. Please stay off the roads. #ncwx (Photo from Ashely MacBride in Carolina Beach)
