off to London today but will be back in time to take the doglets to the run free at 7 o'clock when it will have cooled down enough for them to have some fun ....not that they don't have a lot of fun anyway !!

off to London again to meet up with my great friend Jools Holland to take part in a new radio programme he's doing that is certainly different . Looking forward to it very much .

had a fabulous time with Jools Holland yesterday as a guest on his new Radio 3 series that is truly innovative and I can't wait to hear the finished programme . Thanks for having me on Jools .

this has put a HUGE smile on my face ..........I'm looking forward to going out to the sanctuary next year and seeing her and many other saved happy bears

later today I will be frying a load of squashy tomatoes in olive oil and then skin them and pour over 4 slices of toasted sourdough bread all washed down with numerous cups of tea. Admittedly it is likely to create wind so I could end up quite lonely this evening .

so where's the rain they forecast early this morning ? The weather forecasters seem to regularly get an awful lot wrong. Hardly surprising that they spend the first chunk of each weather forecast telling us what weather we'd already had as if we'll all be amazed .

thanks so much to the wonderful surgical team and nurses who looked after me before, during and after my operation on Tuesday. back home now and a bit sore but have my lovely wife looking after me . I am a very needy convalescent . Not sure how long I can keep it going for though

A happy Saturday for me with both Brentford and Man City winning . Pleased that Ipswich got their first point too. I reckon it's going to be a topsy turvy season . For me , that's the joy of the premiership and the EFL

going to leave all the paperwork for a couple of hours and get watering in the garden which is bone dry . Quite therapeutic I'm led to believe ..

I watered the garden for 2 and a half hours yesterday afternoon as the weather forecast was for more dry weather . It rained at 5 this morning . I now have a new weather forecasting method in place.....I look out of the window.

Totally gutted to hear of the passing of the great Herbie Flowers. At a quick guess I reckon we played on at least 50 records together as well as touring with the band SKY in Australia . Not only a fabulous bass player and musician but also a true gent and a very funny man too
