This summer our lab has been once again fortunate to host two amazing young Afrisnet Scholars from from KNUST in Ghana: Godwin Agbeka and Emmanuel Addai Gyabaah. Both were terrific additions to our lab! 1/4

Emmanuel was part of the team examining the control of collective cell migration. He participated in a large-scale RNAi screen to identify regulators of migration and uncovered two new important players 3/4

They fly home tomottow but we'll miss them--both have bright futures ahead. If they apply to your PhD program in the Fall, interview them!!! 4/4

Godwin was part of the team exploring how cell junctions are connected to the actomyosin cytoskeleton allowing cells to change shape and move. His work gave us new insights into the role of the intrinsically disordered domain of Canoe/Afadin 2/4

Earlier today, the facilitators met again to familiarize ourselves with the Foldscope 2.0. We welcomed new volunteers who were just as fascinated by the magnifying and resolution capabilities of these devices as we were. 1/3
