It is past time to address the dismissive (or worse) comments from managements about β€œstaff wanting credit for every little thing they do”. It is both reasonable and fair, and likely the ONLY to address systems that over-allocate and under recognise to the benefit of uni budgets.

Where do women get their vote? Apparently, via a father or husband *that love them* (but nevertheless need to control them). No one is free, including pathetic patriarchs, until we are all free of this bullshit.

Lawn party in a college town: Professor in creative writing mansplains me for 10 minutes straight on why price gouging laws lead to collapse of the market economy (of course entirely ignorant of my work). The joys of being young and female in academia meets the free market myth.

Excited (and a bit nervous) to have the chance to grow my engagement with Australian history by editing Australian Historical Studies with Martin and Carolyn Holbrook

Imagine if the entire population of Brisbane was compressed into 1/45th of the space. And then every person in it was forced to move around over and over while the hospital, university, schools, houses, were all bombed. That is Gaza right now.

AI is scab tech. It's built off stolen & pauperised labour & designed to further degrade the work it apparently makes easy. It solves the problem of how to make a world in which everyone has time and space for creativity by circumscribing the idea of creativity to a button press.

I think it was around 2017 when I was working at MQ and the NTEU branch had one of the first union wins on wage theft for casuals. Management knew they had a problem then and there can be no excuse for it going on today🀬🀬🀬

Really chuffed to read this deeply engaged review of 'Personal Politics' by Marilyn Lake, who describes the book as an 'important new political history': insidestory.org.au/remaking-citiz…
