Earlier today, the first day of a massive polio vaccination campaign for children in #Gaza got underway. I spoke last night to Helena Humphrey about why it's so very important that it succeeds, and more than 2,100 heroic local health workers are able to reach children at risk.
It's promising to see that the humanitarian pauses that are critical to the success of this campaign are being respected, and that must continue. The heroic local health workers working to vaccinate children, w/ support of UNICEF, World Health Organization (WHO), UNWRA and partners must be protected.
