So I’m getting & reading messages every week saying: “we need to do more about #LongCovid ” — “We need more protests like Act Up”

I agree! But we’re house & bed bound. HIV did not mean instant disability like LC.

The conference was held online and in person October 7-8, 2022, in Tampere, Finland. Keynote speakers include Ron Davis & David Systrom!

Treatments that have changed my life for the better have gravely harmed others. Conversely, certain meds that others have benefitted from have caused severe & lasting reactions for me. Until there are more trials, this will remain our reality. #LongCovid #MECFS

One positive about a mass amount of people getting #longcovid at once, is that the medical system is being forced to change. Gaslighting towards women can’t be swept under the rug anymore. Shame it took a pandemic for women to finally be believed. #COVID theguardian.com/society/2022/o…

We know exercise helps reduce risk for many chronic conditions. HOWEVER, as #LongCovid prevalence continues to increase, we have literally million of people for whom exercise is dangerous and not an option. Now what? 🤔 We are experiencing the results of ableism.

When people say “but the control group had symptoms like fatigue & headaches too” they have zero idea that the fatigue, headaches, etc. of a healthy body feel absolutely nothing like those of a systemic #chronicillness , though we use the same words for them. #LongCovid #pwME

We need more psychological research on #MECFS and #LongCovid ! Research into why some people still believe it's ok to tell severely sick people that their medical condition is all in their heads.
