It's #BookLoversDay, an unofficial 'holiday' to celebrate reading & literature. People are advised to put away their smartphones & pick up a book to read. Since we've one of the most beautiful libraries within University of Oxford, this is something that we can definitely get behind!

Died #OTD 1797 John James Tayler. After studying at (our antecedent) Manchester College, he became Principal & Prof of Ecclesiastical History. An abolitionist, supporter of Magyar exiles, & a Unitarian minister. His portrait hangs in the College. 🖼️by George Patten (1801–65)

Exciting to see Research Fellow Dr Colin Bossen @colinbossen.bsky.social's article 'Robert Wedderburn, the 1st Black Unitarian Minister' featured⤵️. Wedderburn was a 19thC Unitarian minister. His 3 London chapels were the 1st multiracial Unitarian congregations; blending Christianity & Obeah.
