The Committee on Defence, Intelligence and Foreign Relations led by Committee Vice Chair, Hon. (Rtd Maj) Bashir Abdullahi today met to consider its work plan.

The Defence Committee is set to continue with the inquiry into activities of the British Army Training Unit in Kenya (BATUK). Lawmakers are expected to engage with Civil Society, Community based Organisations, Religious leaders in affected areas, NEMA, KWS & Ministry of Lands.

The Committee will also meet County Government of Laikipia, Director of Public Prosecutions and Director of Criminal Investigationson the conduct of BATUK.

Committee Members will also undertake Budget Implementation Oversight for the Agencies under its purview for 2023/2024 FY and consider a Report on the ratification of the Protocol to the Constitutive Act of the African Union in accordance with their mandate.
