CTEPH occurs in 2-4% of people following a pulmonary embolism when blood clots block-off the arteries of the lungs. BPA is a procedure in which a tiny balloon is inserted into the blood vessels of the lungs and inflated to around the size of a pea, pushing the blockage aside.
