6. The queue ('mempool') also has a default memory size limit (300MB) on Bitcoin Core node software.

When this memory limit is exceeded by the total byte size of queued transactions, transactions with lower fees are also unceremoniously dropped from the queue.

5. The default setting of BTC node software is to expire transactions from the queue after they have hung around for 14 days.

This means some peoples' transactions may have not cleared at all but instead may have just been dropped to make room for others.

That's the reason for the drop to zero back there - it unfortunately wasn't the network processing its backlog 😑

The last time the BTC mempool cleared properly was in April.

Almost 6 months, the developers should open a bottle of Maxwell's special 'champaign'.

1/ The money of the internet age must evolve with the internet itself (in terms of speed, bandwidth, capacity, etc) and it must be able to safeguard financial sovereignty as it moves through the different parts and layers in this global internet-based financial machinery.

2/ But some would like to believe that internet money must imitate metal money (like gold) — fixed, unchangeable, not portable, good as store of value but not as medium of exchange (MoE). Only works as MoE if under the custody of crypto neo-banks. This is a very backward mindset.

4/ Just like biological agents, the internet of money has evolved by copying with modification. The variant that is fastest to adapt has the biggest chance of long term survival. Less adaptive variants that are stuck in evolutionary dead ends become vulnerable to extinction.

5/ #BitcoinCash is the most highly evolved version of internet money. It may not be the most dominant, but it is the most adaptable. It adapts to ensure the desirable properties of internet money are preserved.
