An under-appreciated aspect of Trump: he’s going to singlehandedly end this nonsense tactic. No matter who the GOP puts up in ‘28, ‘32, etc, this is over. We’re never going to hear about how Trump was so much better compared to [current GOP nominee] and that is to our benefit.

How do people let themselves fake death threats? How does the reasonable part of your brain not step in and say “bro wtf are you doing, this is unhinged behavior, stop it, get some help”? Really disturbing that people like that exist.

Veering slightly into hyperbole here I know but: Half the country doesn’t have the stomach to do this, for reasons I won’t delve into. Worse, they will fight against it with a furor that I cannot comprehend. I don’t see an amicable path forward and have no desire to find one.
