IGI's Fyodor Urnov, together with leaders in pediatric medicine from across the nation, suggests a new way forward to speed up and broaden access to cell and gene therapies for sick kids. Read more in Nature Medicine: ow.ly/ajNy50SmOWO
How do we take the shining example of Emily Whitehead, cured of her pediatric cancer, and scale it?
Dr. Crystal Mackall Mackall Lab, Dr Donald Kohn The Kohn Lab UCLA, and a team of fellow SMEs across all facets of the problem space offer an actionable path.

For #Juneteenth — we're reading an important commentary in Cell about the barriers faced by Black researchers in STEM: ow.ly/Q2ac50ShbG9
Check out this video that explains the importance and some details of the work that is currently underway at the Matthias Hess and the Lab of Ermias Kebreab at UC Davis and the Innovative Genomics Institute at UC Berkeley to reduce methane emissions from cattle.

Hope, despair and #CRISPR — the race to save one woman’s life.
'Doudna’s Innovative Genomics Institute is working to standardize some aspects of genome-editing therapies, in part to make it cheaper and easier to develop such treatments for people with rare conditions.'

Congrats to MCB's David Savage Savage Lab on his promotion to Professor of Biochemistry, Biophysics and Structural Biology! 👏🥂 mcb.berkeley.edu/news-and-event…
Excited to share this amazing work led by Matthias Hess and Spencer Diamond at Innovative Genomics Institute and sponsored by The Audacious Project. We use multi-omics to show how the rumen microbiome responds to methanogenesis suppression and identify a Duodenibacillus Sp. as an alternative hydrogen sink.
The #microbiome of the cow rumen produces ~30 % of anthropogenic #methane , but how does this microbiome change when methane production is suppressed. Wonderful work by Pengfan Zhang explores this as part of our amazing collaboration with Matthias Hess. #genomics #rumen #microbiology
One of the best and most thoughtful plant CRISPR efforts to date. Rice cis-editing for NPQ and WUE achieves transgene phenotypes without the transgene! Congrats Dhruv Patel-Tupper and team. science.org/doi/10.1126/sc…
Exciting news: the first manuscript from our collaboration w/ Spencer Diamond at Innovative Genomics Institute and our project to reduce enteric methane sponsored by The Audacious Project is now available on BioRvix: biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
