Ontario’s postsecondary funding announcement neglects Indigenous Institutes, perpetuating disparities. Despite success, they’re severely underfunded. The government must prioritize equitable, long-term funding now.

At the IIC, we recognize the importance of mental wellness in our communities. This Mental Health Week, let’s prioritize self-care, support one another, and break the stigma surrounding mental health. Together, we can promote healing and resilience for all.

Three Indigenous Institutes and seven other Ontario post-secondary institutions received $5 million for mental health and addiction services in primary care, enhancing student access to vital support. Here’s a quick snapshot of the projects underway:
