August 10th is Agent Orange Awareness Day. Agent Orange was a herbicide mixture used by the U.S. Military during the Vietnam War. Agent Orange left long-term effects, as it has been linked to many health problems such as miscarriages, cancer, and nervous system conditions.

August 11 is National Navajo Code Talkers Day. These code talkers were members of the US Marine Corps who used their Navajo language to send secret messages over military radio, transferring vital battlefield information. Today, we honor them for using their skills to aid the US.

On August 16, 1940, the first official Army parachute jump occurred at Ft. Benning, Georgia. This jump marked the beginning of a tradition that highlights some of the Army's most elite and highly trained units. Thank you for your service!
