Wow, Sinaloa Governor Rubén Rocha says there will likely be more violent "events" in Culiacán and area That is a bit of a sad and frank admission the government is incapable of controling the violence - or decides not to....

While Mayo Flaco has secured important allies, the Chapitos should not be underestimated. Some figures are supporting them and some factions (Salazares?) are split. The Chapitos showed they could beat Damasos and get gov't to stand down (Culiacanazo). They could be expecting this.

While Sinaloa burns with the Mayos-Chapitos war, El Mayo Zambada himself is set to make an appearance in federal court in Brooklyn tomorrow. Prosecution are requesting a "permanent order of detention" - so he could not be released on bail - which it sounds like will be given.

Mayo Zambada maintains his plea of Not Guilty in court in Brooklyn. No game changer there. Notable they did not allow journalists in to the court room - using the argument there were too many prosecutors and attorneys.
