DSG Amina J Mohammed met with authorities in Port #Sudan on 29 August to discuss the Adre border crossing for aid trucks & draw attention to the crisis in #Sudan. By 30 August, 59 trucks carrying aid supplies had crossed from Chad to Darfur via the Adre border crossing point.

We need to do more in the international community at this time of extreme need in Sudan and Chad. Humanitarian response saves lives: For refugees, For internally displaced persons, For women and children, and For all those who need a lifeline.

In August, IOM Sudan, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior and the International Cooperation Directorate, held a two-day workshop in Port Sudan for border officials to enhance border governance through improved Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) at Points of Entry.
