Today the Kiliani Festival parade took place, with the group from Cavan taking pride of place; given their twinning with Wurzburg. The city’s founder St Killian hails from Cavan. Delighted to greet the group and to speak of the strength of relations between Ireland & Wurzburg

Today the patron saint of Wurzburg, St Kilian, was celebrated; together with his Irish colleagues St Kolonat and St Totnan. Thank you to Bishop Jung for honouring me and; to County Cavan Cathaoirleach Cllr TP O’Reilly and CEO Eoin Doyle and the entire delegation for travelling.

After a weekend of celebration of the links between Ireland (particularly Cavan and Bray) and Wurzburg, a very special thank you to Matthias Fleckenstein for his chairing and leadership of the DIG Würzburg e.V.. People-to-people links are so important today.

Yesterday I presented my credentials to Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier, officially beginning my time as Ireland's Ambassador to Germany. It is an honour to represent 🇮🇪 in 🇩🇪 and I am looking forward to my time here.
