24. 'If Abu Talib and his honorable son were not there, the religion of Islam would not have remained and prospered. Abu Talib assisted the Holy Prophet (s) in Makkah, while his son Imam Ali (a) helped the Prophet(s) in Madina, and put his life at risk of death in the process.'

23. Many famous Sunni scholars have also testified to the faith of Hz Abu Talib (a). Amongst the Sunni scholars, some names are - Allamah Barzanji, Sheikh Ibrahim Hanbali, & Ibn Jawzi.

22. Claiming that Hz Abu Talib(a) was a non believer is no doubt contradicting and opposing the Prophet (s) who knew Hazrat Abu Talib (a)'s great status and hence praised him all along.

Neither the Quran nor the Prophet Muhammad (s), ever said that Hz Abu Talib (a) was a Kafir.

21. These allegations were incited for political reasons by a number of Umayyad and Abbasid caliphs, who always showed enmity toward the Ahlulbayt and the offspring of Abu Talib (a) because these jealous groups were unable to match Imam Ali (a) in terms of virtue and achievement.

20. A Prophet can never be raised by a disbeliever. Prophet is always raised in house of true believer i.e True Muslim. Also, Hazrat Abu Talib (a) was from Banu Hashim clan, who never worshiped Pagan Gods and were followers of the Islam.

19. So, let's conclude this thread that Hazrat Abu Talib (a) who raised 2 of the most pious Personalities(Prophet Muhammad & Imam Ali) can never be a disbeliever. The false Traditions indicating him as a 'Kafir' and unfair accusations made against him are unfounded and baseless.

18. Also, he trained his children to be ready for sacrifice everything they had in the way of Islam. He was the father of the Imams of guidance. In Karbala when it was the time of immense crisis for Islam; it was the progeny of Hazrat Abu Talib (a) who saved the divine religion.

'If the faith of Abu Talib is placed in one pan of a scale and the faith of this creation in the other pan, his faith will tip the scale in his favour.'

Also, Halabi narrates in his Sirah that Prophet has said in praise of his uncle Abu Talib(a) :
'Throughout Abu Talib's life, the Quraysh infidels had not caused me serious trouble.'

15. Also, Prophet's love and affection to Hazrat Abu Talib(a) testifies his faith.

Prophet (s) said to Aqeel ibn Abi Talib (a) : Indeed, I love you for two reasons:

'The first is your kinship to me and the second is that which I know of the love of my uncle (Abu Talib) to you.'

14. Now this narration tells us that Hazrat Abu Talib (a) followed the laws of Islam, before they were to be laid out, and the Prophet’s mission began :

'Abu Talib, even in the days of ignorance, considered intoxicants Haraam for himself.'

13. It may be noted that highest God and ldol to the Kuffar and Mushrikeen of Makka was Hubal, and they would constantly praise him, and bring him to battles, instead of Allah. But Hazrat Abu Talib (a) started the Nikah sermon of Prophet (s) with the name of Allah.

12. Also, Hazrat Abutalib(a) recited the Nikkah and the Sermon for the Nikkah (marital contract) of the Holy Prophet and Bibi Khadija(sa).
In his sermon, he starts off saying
'All praise is due to Allah'

11. Allah, the Almighty, accepted prayers of Hazrat Abdul Muttalib (a) and invaders around the Ka'aba were defeated. That year was named the Year of the Elephant.

This event is also mentioned in the Holy Quran in Surah Al Fil (105:1).

10. Hazrat Abdul Muttalib,(father of Hazrat Abu Talib and grandfather of Prophet) went round the Ka'aba praying to Allah, the Almighty, to prevent the invaders from demolishing the House which lbrahim, al-Khalil, and his son Ismael built for people to worship Allah only.
