Reading about Nicholas Carr's (Nicholas Carr) upcoming book and a raging discussion about the merits and pitfalls of AI in writing on a writers' WA group led me to this post: 1️⃣Discussions on technology and the use of AI, whether in writing or otherwise, are incomplete without some

One in a hundred will make it work. 99 will return to the "rat race", broke, miserable, frustrated, and hopefully, wiser. Why Indians of all ages are logging out of the rat race to take up slow living indiatoday.in/amp/lifestyle/…

Chetan Bhagat is a celebrity and a bestselling author (like him, or not). The 'Gabbar' handle's claim to online fame is a bunch of beef-eating tweets he made a few years ago. So yes, I am very much on Chetan's side on this one. The 'Gabbar' handle got what he craved—engagement.

The book that red-pilled an entire generation. The book they hoped would not be read. It was. The book they hoped would not engender any change in curricula. It didn't. The Communists won. The eminent historians won.

Picked up some books from Half Price Books' Fremont store. "A Problem from Hell: American and the Age of Genocide", by Samantha Power Samantha Power Less than a quarter through this book. Powerful, scathing. But also has the usual, expected blind spots, ironically so. More later.

From Half Price Books' Fremont store. "Slavery by Another Name: The Re-Enslavement of Black Americans from the Civil War to World War II", by David Blackman This book, in some ways, picks up from where Winthrop Jordan's book leaves.

From Half Price Books' Fremont store. "Black Ice", by Brad Thor Two reasons for picking it up: I picked up Shadow of Doubt, and liked the way he begins the book—taut, crisp, and hooks you. Second, I like physical books, bookstores, and hardcovers. And attractively priced, too!
