imo it's actually not meaningful to compare volumes of objects in different dimensions in this way, because they're all in different units! to get a dimensionless number you are actually implicitly computing the ratio of the volume of the unit ball (in mathematics the word

"Math is the act of refining your intuition by constantly exposing its weakness." Great aphorism, I wish I had written it this way!

I'm curious whether this says their whole story? What about the speed during accident? Death per miles driven (ie. death not involving two vehicles) ? Maybe demography of people buying different types of car is not entirely negligible?

🚨 A classic number theory problem. It's weird that the first time I've seen it was in my last year or college. Anyways, enjoy! At this point it's just the Mathinity Someday Challenge 😅 The next one is going to be on Sunday, I promise!

Interesting tutorial, but the application section is a bit slim. Interested to hear about success stories (if any?) of Topological Data Analysis, ie. examples where this set of tools really brings something on the table, ie: the maths is cute, but is it really useful? Anybody?

Multi-billion parameter transformers are about to run on all our phones, yet I’m still captivated by this guy building a water-powered hammer with just a bit of wood, mud, and ingenuity😅 Amazing YouTube channel! youtube.com/watch?v=i9TdoO…

(1/3) There is a not-very-well-known result by Dmitriev and Dynkin from the 50s, which says that all the eigenvalues of any Markov matrix of size n x n must be in the following blue cone:
