🚨 UPDATE: The far-right National Rally (RN) says it supports the appointment of Michel Barnier as PM. This means that liberal President Emmanuel Macron has formed a de facto coalition with the fascist far right, in order to keep the left out of power.

Let's be clear what happened here: left-wing voters put aside their differences with Macron and backed his party in the runoffs to defeat the far-right, and Macron spat in their face. He appointed a right-wing PM dependent upon support from fascists, and ruled out any left PM.

This new French government is a Liberal/Fascist coalition, and it should be called out for what it is. French liberal politicians had a choice between the far right and the socialist left. They picked the far right.

New French PM Michel Barnier, appointed by the "liberal" President Macron, is an anti-immigration right-winger who voted against legalising homosexuality. Prime Minister Barnier will lead a government propped up by the fascist far-right National Rally.
