It was a pleasure to have Chris speak at our meeting last month. You can listen to his speech here. The only way to have a sustainable industry for game devs, which works for game devs & players, is with a strong union in every workplace. Join us today: iwgb.org.uk/en/join/game-w…

Anyway, as someone who both works as a contractor AND helps run a number of studios AND runs my own, unionize the games industry. Don't trust that even good employers will do the right thing. They have something to lose. Make it so they have to do right. That's the only way.

Almost 750 employees have unionized across Blizzard Entertainment and Bethesda Game Studios this week. There's a sense that unionisation in the game industry is becoming somewhat 'normal.' That might very well be the case, but that's down to worker solidarity–not corporations.

The fact that Bungie released the most successful and critically acclaimed expansion to one of the biggest franchises in all of their history and the employees still get impacted is the biggest pocket of horse shit in recent memory. Unionize this fucking industry

recognition travels down and responsibility travels up and until such a time that's true in modern corporate leadership, and potentially way beyond that time, unionize. unionize because you don't deserve to work this hard, and not make your own fate

Pete Parsons spending $2.3 million on classic cars while claiming there's no money left. There's an imbalance of power in our studios. CEOs are able to lay off hundreds of workers while spending in excess. Every game dev needs a union. Join us today at: iwgb.org.uk/en/join/game-w…

22000 game devs have been laid off. Chris Deering's response: "Go to the beach, drive an Uber." With a strong union, we can get what we deserve - work-life balance and job security. Without it, we're left with "let them eat cake" Join our union today: iwgb.org.uk/en/join/game-w…
