Congratulations to Leanne, Olivia, Alex and our collaborator Hans Senn (University of Glasgow Chemistry) on their work on conformationally sensitive fluorescent amino acids published in J Org Chem/Org Lett today: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Conformationally flexible amino acids that fluoresce at different wavelength under changing viscosity have been reported in #OrgLett by SutherlandGroup from University of Glasgow Chemistry go.acs.org/9N8
The Joseph Black Building, home to University of Glasgow Chemistry, is one of our A-listed buildings here at University of Glasgow. Partially completed by 1939, the laboratories were requisitioned by the Admiralty when WWII broke out. The star of this modernist building has to be the striking staircase! 💙
Congratulations to Nina and Holly McErlain (University of Glasgow Chemistry) for their work on the stereoselective synthesis of diaminopimelic acids just published in J Org Chem/Org Lett: pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/ac…
Check out in our latest issue the newest Hot Off the Press article by Bob Hill & Andrew Sutherland SutherlandGroup University of Glasgow Chemistry on their selection of 32 recent papers covering the latest research in bioorganic chemistry and novel natural products🔽 pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…
Congratulations to Lachlan Waddell who passed his PhD viva today. Thanks to the viva committee and good luck with the postdoc Dr Will Unsworth 👍
Collaborative work with Dave Adams now in nature . Manchester Institute of Biotechnology University of Glasgow Warwick Chemistry Protein stabilisation within mechanically-releasable hydrogel. Depressing the syringe, releases active excipient free protein. nature.com/articles/s4158…
Congrats to Dr Zoi Diamantopoulou, Dr Michael Howcroft (Michael Howcroft) and Dr Will Peveler (Will Peveler), who have received prestigious Future Leaders Fellowships from @UKRI to support cutting-edge new research projects. Read more: gla.ac/3Wth8lo
I'm super excited to say that I'll be an @UKRI Future Leaders Fellow from this autumn University of Glasgow Chemistry We will be engineering new approaches to sense steroids for health and environmental protection - watch this space for job postings and exciting new molecular science!
