A fired-up Purdue team takes the field

Underway in West Lafayette. Irish have the ball to start. In must win mode today after last week's stunning loss to Northern Illinois. And of course we went to see how healthy Riley Leonard actually is.

Well Riley Leonard didn't look limited in terms of running the football there.

Gotta Love it! Jeremiyah Love finds the edge and takes off 48 yards for the touchdown. 3 plays, 75 yards, 2:10. Notre Dame 7, Purdue 0. 12:50 left in the 1st quarter.

Bryce Young absolutely lit up a member of the Purdue kickoff return team.

Irish give up one 1st down on defense and then force a punt. Let's see if the offense can't have another big drive. Remember they scored out of the gate last week too.

And the Irish go 3 and out.... so much for 2 good drives in a row for the offense.

And the 1st play of the 3rd drive.... Notre Dame gets a delay of game. ooooof.

Not a good sign for Notre Dame as Irish right guard Billy Schrauth is the injured player. needs help coming off the field. At least it's the one position on the oline that ND has veterans. Rocco Spindler in for ND at right guard.

Leonard completes the pass to Mitchell Evans after scrambling in the pocket. Looked like he had trouble getting his feet set but still manages to complete the pass.

Irish offensive guard Billy Schrauth heads to the locker room on a golf cart. Looks like it will be Rocco Spindler the rest of the way at right guard.
