Wow… By 2023, “1,238 funds claiming to ‘promote’ environmental, social, and good governance goals held stocks in the industry classification code ‘Aerospace & Defense,’ including weapons manufacturers like Raytheon and Lockheed Martin.”

The International Criminal Court chief prosecutor said "he had been pressured by some world leaders not to issue warrants" against Israeli officials. “'Several leaders and others told me and advised me and cautioned me,' he said." bbc.com/news/articles/…

Antony Blinken says that Israel has agreed to 90% of a potential deal. Netanyahu says there is no deal in the making. You know how for months the US has been saying Israel has agreed to a deal and its Hamas that's been blocking it? Maybe they were lying.

Harris' running mate goes rhetorically further than her, saying "we can't allow what's happened in Gaza to happen," praising Uncommitted, and talking about "put[ting] the leverage on." This still pretty conservative statement shows just how timid & isolated Biden & Harris are.

IDF soldiers killed a US citizen in the West Bank, after shooting several others the past week. You will not see or hear, in politics or media, anything approaching the grief & rage over Hamas' killing of another citizen last week. There is a tacit hierarchy of human life.

In a week where Israeli podcasters laugh & say they like knowing Gazans are suffering, where 59% of Israelis say expressing sympathy for Gazans shouldn't be allowed, where IDF's killed dozens daily in a completely different territory. An entire society deranged.

Turkey is expressing far more anger about the alleged killing of a US-Turkish citizen by Israel than the US is. Turkey says “We condemn this murder committed by the Netanyahu government.” The US says “We are aware of the tragic death … We offer our deepest condolences”

That Tenet and these YouTubers were taking money from RT is disgraceful & embarrassing, but we should not be okay with this. An indictment - i.e. a govt accusation - is enough to have anyone's content erased now? I'm sure Trump's DOJ will use this responsibly.

I missed this, but three days ago, after Hamas killed the 6 hostages, the ADL's Jonathan Greenblatt wrote that he was now certain the hostages couldn't be saved without a deal, and that Israel should make "painful concessions" to strike on. That's new. adl.org/resources/blog…

Scrutinizing policy and rhetorical shifts like this is a core function of journalism—of an independent press, and it’s embarrassing watching liberal partisans trip over themselves to dismiss scrutinizing this as out of bounds or unfair.

As I wrote back in October, the Israeli government has a long, long history of attacking and killing Americans and facing no consequences for it. This inaction is effectively a US govt policy that encourages the murder of its own citizens. jacobin.com/2023/10/israel…

According to Haaretz, this marks the 1st time Harris or Walz have called out Netanyahu by name since he was picked. The main significance of this IMO is that Walz has a pretty good gauge of where "mainstream" opinion - both public & elite - in the US is.

Note that in none of the public statements issued so far - all of which have had to be elicited, btw - there's no condemnation of the mystery killers, or a vow that they'll pay a price, face justice etc., unlike with Hamas last week. Esp. strange since they don't know who did it

Makes sense. The Biden administration is already feeding arms to one country attacking and killing US citizens, so why not sign a contract to send Americans to die on behalf of the country that carried out 9/11.
