Access to Services: 👉Invest more in public services 👉Prioritise long term funding 👉Adopt a ‘no wrong door’ approach 👉Support affordable travel 👉Child Rights Impact Assessments on all decisions affecting services to children 👉Children’s Rights Approach to budget planning.

Education: Support schools to reduce the cost of the school day e.g. 👉Remove powers to enforce school uniform rules. 👉Ease access to uniform grants 👉Encouraging sharing & recycling uniforms. 👉Ensure extra-curricular activities are affordable

Health: 👉Ensure that all suggested actions under ‘Meeting basic need’ and ‘Access to services’ apply equally to health & social care where relevant 👉Prioritise funding for mental health support for children and young people

Disempowerment: 👉Appoint a Minister for Children 👉Embed an understanding of #childrensrights & voice in all public services planning & delivery 👉Put in place accountability mechanisms so decision-makers are accountable to children 👉Provide child friendly info on budgeting

Discrimination: 👉Use Equality Impact Assessment to ensure non-discrimination in the design & delivery of services 👉Remove the discretion to deny access to free school meals based on no recourse to public funds 👉 Involve children from minoritized communities
