Saw Welsh National Opera's adventurous (& acrobatic) "Death in Venice" last night - then back to Camb today to find waiting for me an essay in the latest CUSP: Late Nineteenth/Early Twentieth C. Cultures on queer littoral desire (by Barbara Barrow), which happens to frame the opera (and Mann's novel) v nicely!
