I be mostly over on 💙sky these days where there's a growing nature community, no algorithms & I'm curating the nature writing feed & starter pack. If you want to find me & loads of other nature writers, just search for #naturewriting. Hope to see you on the other side!

A great pretender lurking on the riverbank. As always, beautiful and informative writing from ⁦Nic Wilson⁩ 🌿🙏🏼 Nice to add a new 3-lettter river name to the list - Hiz-tastic!! theguardian.com/environment/ar…

A cocktail of colour and danger on the riverbank in my Country diary. Have you seen wasp spiders in your county yet? They were first recorded in Hertfordshire in 2005. theguardian.com/environment/ar…

Oh my, it's been a while since I've ventured up north. That, and making it out of bed, and a weekend ahead seeing friends, and I'm feeling a bit teary. In a good way.

Enjoy my bird biographies? If so, please do vote for which species you'd like to read about next (after the Starling, which is published on 3rd October) on the @nhbs website: us6.list-manage.com/survey?u=85ba7…

Beautiful tho the view is, by tomorrow I'll have been in bed for 4 wks, apart from a glorious wobbly weekend in the Peak District. Really hoping antibiotics sort my chest infection or I'll have to postpone my 2nd op for the 2nd time. Feeling a tad fed up. Pls send birds & plants.

Do sign this letter, but banning neonicotinoids is not enough. They will just be replaced. We need systemic change and a shift to truly sustainable agriculture.

Writing/editing is a ridiculous job. Spent today adding 1,000 words to a chapter, then deleted 900 of them. Left me with a better chapter, but why, oh why, can't I just add 100 words in half an hour and then spend the rest of the day doing something else???

Crumbles! I've never been quoted on the front of a book before! But this is a rare gem of botanical history by Matthew Biggs, published by Quarto Books US #gardenwriting uk.bookshop.org/p/books/the-se…
