There are times when you will lose. You will fail to achieve the desired outcome. Not every failure is necessarily a loss. Perhaps it wasn’t the right time or opportunity for you. Keep your chin up and continue moving forward.

I learn so much more when outcomes don't turn out as hoped... when I don't get that A+... when I miss the mark completely and sit with what I make it mean about me. What can I learn from this? Compared to how quickly I move on when things go "right." How about you?

It is easy to look into your past and dissect everything you should have done differently. It is hard to look into the cloudy future and know the best course of action. Give yourself grace. You did your best with the information you had at that time.

Radical Acceptance does mean you are ok with what is transpiring. Nor that you roll over and stop advocating for yourself. It’s about maximizing your sphere of control. Instead of wishing things were different, your focus is on doing your best to overcome life’s challenges.

It's not your job to: - Read minds - Make them happy - Make their life easy - Anticipate their needs - Constantly walk on eggshells - Always compromise to keep the peace. Your job is to: - Honor your values - Advocate for yourself - Set healthy boundaries

Pause. Reflect. Recharge. As the week winds down, pause to savor the moments. Reflect on your achievements and blessings, filling your heart with gratitude. Extend kindness by sharing acts of kindness and words of encouragement. Recharge your mind, and reignite your spirit.

Being constantly busy is a defense mechanism. It’s a way to avoid difficult thoughts, feelings or situations. Avoidance does not make problems go away. It creates the conditions for problems to fester. Get off the hamster wheel and address what needs to be addressed.

Don’t ignore your thoughts and feelings. This will not make them go away. Trying to suppress them will only intensify them. A more effective approach is to explore them, understand their triggers and develop healthy strategies to navigate them.

It is human nature to tie your self-worth to your work. Truth is you can be an excellent physician despite a negative outcome. Outcomes are influenced by different factors, many of which are beyond your control. A negative outcome does not define you. Give yourself grace.

Self-compassion is often met with skepticism. It is viewed as being lax and letting yourself off the hook. The truth is being overly critical of yourself is not a prerequisite for being responsible. You can give yourself grace while holding yourself accountable.
