Firefighters were called to a roof fire at a school in Melbourne Road, Clacton at 1:12pm. On arrival, four crews reported a small section of a roof cavity was on fire and worked to extinguish the fire. It was caused accidentally while works were being carried out on the roof.

Four crews were called to a field fire affecting approximately eight hectares of grassland in Rochford today Crews worked together to surround the fire and used a Water Bowser to shuttle water to the scene An investigation will take place to determine the cause of the fire

Firefighters from Braintree and Halstead rescued Waffle, a cockapoo from a kitchen fire in Braintree this evening. Crews used SmokeyPaws pet oxygen masks as it was suffering with smoke inhalation. The fire was caused by items catching fire after being left on top of the hob.
