A brilliant day at the Billericay Teenage Open Day 🚒 It was nice to see young people visit the station and meet our teams including Billericay Town Youth British Transport Police Community Pastors SaferEssexRoads Richard Holden MP joined us and experienced a glimpse of what it's like to be a firefighter! 🚒

Firefighters were called to a roof fire at a school in Melbourne Road, Clacton at 1:12pm. On arrival, four crews reported a small section of a roof cavity was on fire and worked to extinguish the fire. It was caused accidentally while works were being carried out on the roof.

We're currently at the scene of a field fire near Stambridge Road, Rochford. The scene is producing lots of smoke. If you live nearby, please keep your windows and doors closed.

Firefighters from Braintree and Halstead rescued Waffle, a cockapoo from a kitchen fire in Braintree this evening. Crews used SmokeyPaws pet oxygen masks as it was suffering with smoke inhalation. The fire was caused by items catching fire after being left on top of the hob.
