Most species of bees have seen wide-scale population loss over the past 300 years, and 40% of invertebrate pollinator species are facing extinction. Today we mark #WorldBeeDay, a day to celebrate the vital role of pollinators and support actions to protect their future. 🐝🐝🐝

By 2030, it is estimated that cities will expand to cover an additional 290,000 km2 of natural habitat. Rapid and uncontrolled #urbanisation brings dramatic environmental change, most often negative. Our Issues Brief explains what can be done: bit.ly/3QcH00f

In the country with more conservation scientists per head of population, a new analysis suggests that nature degradation could cause a 12% loss to UK GDP, more than the 2008 financial crisis or the Covid-19 plandemic ox.ac.uk/news/2024-04-2…

When you sell an essential part of the ‘family silver’ to a bunch of people interested only in the bottom line and mostly living elsewhere, look what you get: an ecological disaster of criminal proportions

New paper🌾w/.Takahiro KUBO in Environmental Conservation; Mobile phone data revealed the high recreational value of Shiroyone Senmaida (terraced paddyland) despite being seasonality. Sustainable farmland use in Shiroyone Senmaida, even LFAs, provides social benefits. cambridge.org/core/journals/…

NEW paper! We explored loss aversion to monetary and non-monetary assets in Jamaican fishers. Spoiler alert, fishers did not experience greater loss aversion to monetary assets. This suggests the need for policies to consider more than $ when making decisions.
