Yesterday I got to meet Nobel Prize winning chemist Carolyn Bertozzi at Chemical Biology in the Bay Area Day. She gave a great, inspiring keynote talk on bioorthogonal chemistry & the story of its conception. A successful 1st outing post ACL Surgery! Wish I asked for a picture!👩🔬
Congrats Hannah O'Toole for taking home the gold at the UC Davis Biomedical Engineering Graduate Group symposium today!
I’m so proud of our department and the BME Health, Equity, and Wellness Committee! It’s been a very important part of my experience UC Davis Biomedical Engineering Graduate Group
Alita D'Almeida (Alita) of our group just published her first manuscript on utilizing T2 mapping for tracking neuropathology and therapeutic rescue after organophosphate exposure. Congratulations, Alita! Lein Lab UCDRadiology UC Davis CMGI sciencedirect.com/science/articl…
We launched Women+ in BME to create space discussing the issues women and historically excluded populations face in biomedical engineering. Read about the initiative led by Alba Alfonso García and supported by UC Davis Biomedical Engineering chair and Women+ ally Steven C George: engineering.ucdavis.edu/news/building-…
We are grateful to all Women+ trainees (Sophie Orr Hannah O'Toole Roshni Shetty), faculty (Aviran Lab Crystal Ripplinger), staff and their allies for contributing to this is important space for exchange and support.
Thanks to our leaders, including UC Davis Biomedical Engineering Graduate Group Chair Blaine Christiansen and Program Coordinator Christal Wintersmith, for active participation and engagement!
