Henderson County has declared a State of Emergency in the County related to Hurricane Florence effective at 6:00pm on September 13th. A community briefing will be streamed live on hendersoncountync.gov on September 14th at 11:00am.

On Tuesday, December 11, 2018, Henderson County offices will be on a delayed schedule, opening at 10:00am.

The Henderson County Board of Commissioners Meeting scheduled for Wednesday, February 20, 2019 has been delayed, and will begin at 10:00am. Operating hours for county offices remain on a normal schedule at this time.

The main branch of the Henderson County Public Library will be closed on Friday, June 14th and Saturday, June 15th due to roof construction work. All other branches will operate under their regularly scheduled Friday and Saturday hours.

Henderson County non-emergency departments will be closed on Friday, January 8, 2021 due to winter weather conditions.

Henderson County non-emergency departments will be closing at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 8th due to inclement weather.

Henderson County’s non-emergency departments, including Recreation, Public Libraries, the Animal Shelter and Solid Waste will be closed on Saturday, December 9th due to continued weather related conditions.

Ring in 2018 in Hendersonville at the Historic Henderson County Courthouse on Main St. New Year’s Eve events are scheduled on Sunday from 6:00p - 7:00p, with a 7:00p countdown to GMT, and again from 11:00p - midnight with the Apple Rise at midnight. hcprd.org

Due to inclement weather, the Henderson County New Year's Eve Apple Rising has been cancelled, but is officially rescheduled for December 31, 2018. Happy New Year!

On Thursday, January 18, 2018, Henderson County offices will open at 10:00am. Delivery of emergency services will not be impacted by the delayed opening.
