The end of an era! The ESA Cluster mission spans my entire post-doctoral career! Massive kudos to everyone involved 👊
The ESA Cluster Salsa satellite will reenter the atmosphere over the South Pacific between 18:20 and 21:20 CEST on 8 September. Find out how we predict the time and place of a 'targeted' reentry: blogs.esa.int/rocketscience/…
Since I’m in Exeter for the UKSWSE Meeting and presenting a poster on the #spaceweather impacts on the Exeter - Starcross railway line back in the 1840s, I couldn’t miss the opportunity to visit the scene of the incident with some of my co-authors!
Heading home from the UKSWSE Meeting where all aspects of #spaceweather were discussed. Appropriate that there’s a geomagnetic storm kicking off this evening!
Red alert: aurora likely. Issued 2024-09-13 22:27 UTC (23:27 BST) by AuroraWatch UK. #aurora
Enjoyed a lunchtime run in the sunshine around Lancaster University campus. All quiet now, but not long until our students return and the buzz of the new academic year hits!
Delighted to give a presentation on #SpaceWeather yesterday to the Space Horizon Scanning Network at Department for Science, Innovation and Technology. Amazing to see so many folks from government and the civil service keen to find out more about this natural hazard and the impacts it can have on our society.
