Children are often nervous about going back to school. But not having a uniform shouldn’t be the reason. Donate today to buy a new uniform for a child who has had to leave their home and belongings behind.

Could you help to replace a child’s school uniform after they’ve fled domestic abuse, to help give them a fresh start this September?

This is a very positive & welcome step towards much-needed more fundamental reform Bridget Phillipson Off the back of the proper funding of teacher & support staff pay & a sensible start to curriculum reform, this feels like a real partnership between schools, trusts & government.

This is a momentous day for the education system. It's now important that careful thought goes into the balanced scorecard approach, and that we move towards a more intelligent accountability system, which also encourages greater #pureaccountability. gov.uk/government/new…

Office plant appreciation post. Mr Big Plant has been with me every single day in my school leadership career. Started with me in 2008 at Huntington. Moved schools & job, lived in 6 different offices, 4 different pots & still going strong after 17 years.

Inspected 4 times by Ofsted last year & twice with SIAMS. Can categorically say our schools learnt more improved more from SIAMS than Ofsted. Grading (whether it is overall or sub-judgements) makes inspection high stakes, adversarial & non-developmental. SIAMS is the opposite.

Biden is loose today: "Sit down if you have seats. I said that about 8 months ago. I said, 'sit down,' but they didn't have any seats, and they said, 'see, he's too damn old.'"

Thank you Aaron Rupar for putting this together. Compare this authentic brilliance from Joe with the insane, dark, predatory ramblings from Trump earlier. One of them is mentally unfit for office and it ain’t Joe.

Great piece on the problems with Progress 8 from my brilliant friend Andrew O'Neill This is someone we should really listen to when it comes to accountability reform.

Absolutely delighted that The Education Alliance’s get into teaching work experience programme for sixth formers. Why wait until uni and beyond when we can be promoting the profession with our own young people?

Another great piece of journalism from Anna Fazackerley. It is shameful that student housing companies are allowing young people to live in these conditions.
