in the last 24 hours alone, the Arizona Republican Party’s official Twitter account has shared nearly 100 posts about Haitians eating cats and dogs, another 100+ posts referencing the Great Replacement and other various racist commentary about migrants in Springfield, Ohio.

JD Vance acknowledges the cat and dog stories are urban legends and then rationalizes it (via CNN): “If I have to create stories so that the American media actually pays attention to the suffering of the American people, then that's what I'm going to do."

One thing that's remarkable about this heartbreaking ProPublica investigation is how much work it took to confirm that this death was the result of an abortion ban. How many more deaths are happening that we haven't been able to confirm?

The NYPD spent $150 Million *extra* last year to catch people who weren't able to afford to pay the subway fare. They owed just $104,000. $150 million could buy free fares (at going rate) for 95,000 poor New Yorkers per year. Instead four people shot, including an officer.
