Great to finally be International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP in Japan - sorry May Berenbaum couldn’t be here in person but Walter Leal did a GR8 job of honouring her & substituting with some fascinating chemical ecology. Also gr8 to catch up with old friends - here with Geoff in Walter’s lecture.

Yesterday, I gave one of the most challenging presentations of my career - a lecture arranged at the 11th hour to fill in the gap at International Congress of Entomology 2024 Kyoto JP created by May Berenbaum's understandable but unfortunate cancellation of the Wigglesworth Lecture. Exciting news! #ucdavis alumnus Lohit Garikipati has discovered a new species of praying mantis in Arizona. Stagmomantis clauseni, or common name, Sonoran Tiger Mantis. Check out how it happened. rb.gy/d9d22c

On Sept. 6, 2016 it happened. A tagged monarch flew from Ashland, Ore. to Vacaville, Calif. That's 285 miles in 7 days or 40.7 miles per day. Part of #WSU entomologist David James' migratory monarch research. #BugSquad rb.gy/6nd4bz
