What is the purpose of a public library? Last night 🐢🐢🐢John Green🐢🐢🐢 echoed what I've heard from experts in the field. That the public library doesn't exist to cater to any one individual's tastes/beliefs. wfyi.org/news/articles/…

I really liked my college experience. It taught me how to think critically -- which in turn prepared me for a career in journalism. But, IDK, paying $400/mo 12 YEARS after graduating is just wild. I def know folks who are worse off, too. The way we pay for higher ed is broken.

Thanks to everyone who read my piece about #NPR, and found it helpful. I wanted to share a few thoughts about what's harmful about the false "wokeness" narrative about the place. slate.com/business/2024/… via @slate

I’m worried about the future of journalism. Public media specifically. I remember a time not long ago when some thought that public media could be the savior of local news as more and more newspapers disappeared. With mounting lay offs in pub media, what now?
