One of the most harmful aspects of the idea that “psychiatry is a branch of medicine” is you feel like you need a degree in order to be a supportive ear for someone, to hear them out, to offer encouragement or advice. Psychiatry corrodes an essential element of human relatedness.

My child was dragged out of his classroom, hauled down corridors of their school to be locked in a storeroom of another classroom... when I asked for the CCTV, it was deleted and the entire system was replaced before external investigation began.

Adressing poverty is not at the forefront for our elected reps. E.g. It costs NOTHING to relax rigid uniform policies and BoGs have the power to do such literally overnight. Families should not have to get into debt for their children to access their right to "free education".
