The ASEAN Committee in Ottawa is one of 55 ASEAN Committees in Third Countries. As Canada became a strategic partner of ASEAN in 2023, the ACO will continue to assist in coordinating and facilitating ASEAN matters in CA. We are honoured to chair the ACO for the 2nd half of 2024

Since 1994, the Philippine Independence Committee of the Ottawa Valley (PICOV) has been promoting Philippine heritage by organizing traditional and cultural Filipino events across Ottawa. Kudos for the great work you have been doing for the community!

The Canada-ASEAN Business Council (CABC), facilitates increased trade and investment in the Canada-ASEAN economic corridor through policy advocacy, networking, and education. Very good discussions on work needed to build more robust economic ties between ASEAN and CA.

Honoured to host the 286th meeting of the ASEAN Committee in Ottawa. Under the Phl Chairmanship, we committed to sharing with more Canadians the important work being done by ASEAN to maintain peace, security and prosperity, for Canada, the IndoPacific and the rest of the world.

Saturday well spent with members of the 8000 strong Filipino community in Halifax. So proud of the contributions they are making in education, business, healthcare, tourism, hospitality and other industries that has made NS a leading financial, commercial and industrial center.

It was an honour to have had productive discussions with Lt Gov Arthur LeBlanc, Premier Tim Houston, Mayor Mike Savage, Labour Minister Jill Balser and other NS officials. We have set an ambitious agenda for mutually beneficial relations between the Philippines and Nova Scotia !

Tremendous learning experience in Halifax through engagements with Invest NS, COVE, the Dept of Fisheries, and the Health Innovation Hub.Witnessed first hand Nova Scotia’s strength in fisheries, marine technology, healthcare etc!So much potential for learning and collaboration!

We have a long history of education cooperation between Nova Scotia and the Philippines. The partnership between Dalhousie and Romblon State Univ adds a new dimension to this partnership, as we explored new areas of collaboration, and made new friends at the NS Community College!

ASEAN comes to Ottawa City Hall! We marked ASEAN’s 57th Anniversary with a reception at City Hall graced by Mayor Mark Sutcliffe, GAC ADM Weldon Epp, friends in the diplomatic corps and the business community. We hope to highlight the importance of ASEAN to the people of Canada
