Georgia’s incredibly shrinking ballot? More third party presidential candidates could be coming off the state’s ticket. It’s a win for Democrats. #gapol appnews.ajc.com/IASDLQQ6FBARTI…

Mark was kind to provide me with the GA file the AJC obtained for this story. One of the striking things I saw was the rise in "17.5" registrations -- young people who will be 18 by November but are still 17

Mark Niesse (@markniesse) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Besides the big increases in new registrations, even more young voters are on the way. Over 9,600 registrations are “pending” because the voters signed up when they were 17 1/2 years old, which is allowed in Georgia. They aren’t eligible to cast a ballot until they turn 18.

Some Georgia voters received mail last week notifying them that their registrations have been made “inactive." But not to worry: As long as these voters are registered at their current address, they can still participate in the November election. #gapol ajc.com/politics/georg…

The expanding controversy over a State Election Board controlled by loyalists to former President Donald Trump is putting Gov. Brian Kemp and his Republican allies into exactly the position they hoped to avoid: a debate over the last election. #gapol ajc.com/politics/georg…

Georgia voters are getting ready to vote by mail for the presidential election. Nearly 81,000 people had applied for absentee ballots through yesterday, and more are coming in daily. Ballots will begin to be mailed the week of Oct. 7. Then early voting starts Oct. 15.

Voting rights advocates asked Gov. Kemp to remove pro-Trump members of the State Election Board. He asked AG Carr for an opinion on whether he can do so. Carr’s opinion said citizens can’t “simply submit information” to Kemp and trigger a hearing process. documentcloud.org/documents/2510…

Gov. Brian Kemp won’t soon have to face a decision on whether to remove members of Georgia’s State Election Board who are under fire for approving new rules that critics say are designed to favor former President Donald Trump. #gapol ajc.com/politics/ag-op…
