The adductor magnus functions very much like a hamstring and is often referred to as the “4th hamstring”. All adductors possess either a hip extensor or hip flexor component.

Save the boring weighted carries, pallof presses and planks for adults...under 12U should be sprinting, jumping, throwing crawling, climbing and rolling. Stop adultifying kids training programs, they get enough of that in youth sports. It doesn't show expertise by making kids do

It’s interesting when you really “understand” hip extension. Glute max is a powerful external rotator, adductor magnus is an internal rotator. In straight ahead running the two rotational components effectively cancel each other out and we run straight ahead and forward. 🤔

One of my favorite quotes is from legendary coach Bum Phillips on Earl Campbell’s poor performance in the 1 mile run. Phillips commented to the reporter who asked “thanks for the reminder, if it’s fourth in a mile I won’t give him the ball.”

This systematic review and meta-analysis finds that combined aerobic and muscle strength training is likely to have greater effects on cardiorespiratory fitness and body composition than aerobic training alone in patients with coronary artery disease.

Life Rule: Spend more time doing things you never regret. A few things I never regret: • Time with family • Creative sprints • Talking to smart friends • Journaling for 5 min • Going for a walk • Exercising • Sleeping 8 hours Make your list—then spend more time on it!

I bet results are similar even if the warmup comes right after stretching. Stretching is good for you and, super/underrated.

It’s easy to say “never forget” on a day like today but it is also important to remember every day to support organizations like the Mark Bavis Leadership Foundation. “Always remember” those who continue to make something good out of something so bad.
