The Australian gov't this month introduced reforms to create a new short-term ‘Workplace Justice visa’ to enable migrant workers to stay in Australia to enforce their labor rights. This is a great achievement! All migrants exploited at work should be able to access mechanisms to hold employers accountable without fear of immigration repercussions. More of this please, the UK would do well to replicate this 👀

Australia has a introduced a Workplace Justice Visa for exploited migrant workers. "From this week, exploited migrants who have breached the work rights on their visa can pursue redress against their employer with a guarantee their visa won’t be cancelled". 👇

I know foreign hospitality workers, brought to UK on work visas, expected to do crazy, illegal shift lengths without suitable breaks, generally treated like shit, with zero recourse as they fear they will lose their visas. We need a scheme like this.
