Introducing the artist of our mangrove ecosystem, Karen McDaniel-Tolentino! 🤎 Karen has been a MISS member since 2020. Located in South Florida, Karen decided to draw a beautiful mangrove habitat to represent our Southern United States ocean ecosystem. 🌊 🦈

Hello, Northeast! 👋 Coastal estuaries are important ecosystems lined with marshes and sea grasses that filter water that flows into the ocean and acts as a buffer protecting us from coastal storms. These bodies of water are usually where the river meets the sea! 🌊

Meet Alejandra! 👋 Alejandra is the artist behind our coastal estuary and currently works as a a policy analyst in environmental compliance with the National Ocean Service! 🌊
