UPDATE: Shabelle river level has dropped to below high flood risk level at Belet Weyne, but is expected to rise downstream at Bulo Burte to high flood risk level - SWALIM.. River downflow is expected to sustain flood waters at vulnerable breakage points in Jowhar & Balcad.

The ‘Deyr’ (Oct-Dec) rain forecast in #Somalia indicates an increased likelihood of drier-than-normal conditions. There is a collective need for urgent & coordinated actions to address food insecurity and climate challenges. Water sources including shallow wells, are drying up.
